Build Day 1

Day one of the build - September 13, 2012

We were greeted by the local high school cheer leaders when we arrived the first day.  The community involvement was outstanding!

This is what this site looked like at the start of day one!
The exterior walls were pre-built by a local construction company.  They were waiting for us when we arrived.

The exterior walls went up fast.  A lot of people mad this a really easy job!

While some people were setting up the exterior walls, others were building the interior walls out in the street!

All of the walls had to be braced.  Here I am bracing the front wall.

Installation of the interior walls came next.

Finally the house was wrapped in Tyvek and the roof trusses were set on top.  That stack of wood on the top of the house is about half of the roof trusses waiting for us to put them up.  That will have to wait until Friday!
